After several years of farming Fallow Deer, I became convinced of the tremendous opportunities for genetic improvement within the species. The amazing results achieved by artificial insemination programs at Mule Face Farms in 1991, 1992, and 1994 confirmed this as fact.

The availability of semen from world record class Hungarian and Danish Fallow bucks permitted in one or two generations the advances which might have taken decades of selective breeding to accomplish. To complement the effect contributed by outstanding sires, in 1996 I imported 60 pure European Fallow does which I considered to be absolutely the best stock available. These pure European does had an average weight of 122.75 pounds at rut.

With this foundation, my artificial insemination programs in 1996, 1997, and 1999, utilizing pure Hungarian and Danish sires, produced what I believe to be some of the finest pure European Fallow Deer available anywhere in the world. Their antlers are phenomenal, and the bodies which carry them are awesome. In addition, utilizing Josef Kerckerinck's Swedish Fallow genetics as cleanup bucks produced exceptional offspring from does that did not conceive artificially.
